Four Corners Framed Print (2019)

Four Corners Framed Print (2019)

"The Melville Walk: Part One" (2019)

In 2019 artist Kate E. Deeming initiated the project 'Four Corners' in her community of Pollokshields.  Over 8 weeks she delivered dance workshops to over 500 children locally, ending in a mass dance event on the streets of Pollokshields. The event included the launching of the 'Pollokshields Art Museum' an exhibition of the children dancing hung in local shop windows.  This event was part of a decades long practice of artist Deeming who was interested in cultivating 'communities of dancing'.

The exhibition photos, which were captured by Artist Basharat Khan, were donated to the local schools.  This is the only print from the artist's collection now available for the public.  There is little physical ephermera of the work of artist Kate E. Deeming, this is an opportunity to own something of the unique practice and culture she cultivated in her local area for decades.  The particular print was taken on Melville Street, just off Kenmure Street in Pollokshields and features the artist's son, Jasper.

In addition to the framed print the buyer will get a certificate of authenticity and ephemera from the commission.

The Framed print measures 29x21 inches

The print itself measures 23x16 inches
