Welcome to my website! My name is Kate E. Deeming, my work will be familiar to many as the 'Dancing Christmas Tree (2020/21) when I dressed as a Christmas tree and danced hundreds of miles for joy and funds for local primary schools. I have also been noted as the Disco Chicken, the Danstronaut, the Boogie Unicorn and The Broomielaw Dancing Queen. And, most recently, as the Dancing Lemon! I am an artist who works in communities, who uses dance to make good things happen! My work has spanned decades and continents, you can find more about me here!
I had been considering the idea of reclaiming the wild body. Connecting to my earlier work of finding the path back to oneself on physical + level. Today was my first day of my residency through The Work Room based at the Tramway. While the ultimate aim is to facilitate the next stage of my Beeton/Dance.Time Her/Single Mum Project, it is also a return to my practice.
